This edition of Collaboratory Scientists is intended for children who identify with any gender. Collaboratory Scientists is a week-long day summer camp for middle school-aged children that aim to infuse summer fun with scientific exploration in a warm and supportive atmosphere that challenges kids to think critically about the world in which they live. Through hands-on experiments and daily labs, students will learn to ask the questions that matter.
Cost: Camps are $125/child/week, or $225/child/week if a child is enrolled in both Numberphiles and Collaboratory Scientists. Students inrolled in both camp should bring sack lunch.Enrollment fees include all camp activities and a lunch bag. After registration, Oleysa Courier will email a secure link to you to complete the payment. Payment must be completed by June 1st to hold your child’s spot in the camp(s). A limited number of scholarships are available to participants who qualify for free or reduced-price lunch or whose family income is at or below the median income for Illinois.
Location: ISU’s campus in Normal, IL
Age: For children entering grades 6-8.
Time: All camps run 1-4 pm.
Camp Capacity: 16 students
Other details: If students inrolled in both camp should bring sack lunch. Camps are taught by ISU students who are studying to become teachers, supervised by a CeMaST staff member.
